We're talking to you about his Winery

The precise, meticulous and passionate work of Eric Bouletin, Winery Roucas Toumba, in Vacqueyras, has enabled him to make a name for himself with a very small production of less than 2000 bottles. His work is as "purist" as possible: no use of weed killers or chemical fertilisers, short pruning. Eric looks for small yields to get as close as possible to the terroir. Since the age of 20, Eric Bouletin has been cultivating the family's Winery , which was then in a cooperative cellar. In 2000, he finally decided to work for himself. A multitude of plots, each more magnificent than the last, protected from the Mistral by cypress and fig trees. The soils are as varied as the plots (very stony, clayey, sandy) with Carignan over 80 years old, Syrah, Mourvèdre and some white grape varieties (Roussanne and Clairette). Then pushed by demand, more at ease in his work having acquired experience, he decided in 2007 to leave the cooperative completely and vinified the 15 ha today on 3 vintages: a Vin de Pays, a Côtes-du-Rhône and its Vaqueyras matured 18 months in 500L barrels all Grape variety together, blended only after 12 months: Grenaches, 80 years old for some, Syrah, Mourvèdre.
