Le Clos de la BRUYÈRE

Julien Courtois and his Winery le Clos de la Bruyère offer healthy and vibrant Loire wines. A natural process for natural and energetic vintages!

Julien is none other than one of the sons of the famous winemaker of Sologne Claude Courtois (Winery les Cailloux du Paradis), so we can't hide the fact that he was well educated during his training at winemaker !

In 1998, Julien decided to go it alone and create " Le Clos des Bruyères ". This Winery, of 4.5 hectares today, is located in Soings-en-Sologne just like the Winery of his father Claude Courtois.

The vines, surrounded by shrubs and woodland, are made up of 7 grape varieties: pineau menu (some of which are ungrafted), gamay, the latter being subdivided into gamay ordinaire, gamay chaudenay (a gamay teinturier) and gamay franc de pied (ungrafted, planted in 1978). The rest of the grape varieties are Romorantin, côt, chardonnay and gascon, as well as the newly planted chenin.

Like his father and his brother Etienne (who took over the Winery " Les Cailloux du Paradis "), the work in the vineyard and the cellar is done naturally, with respect for the living. The wine is matured for about 18 months in barrels containing several wines. Julien is assisted by his wife Heidi. She is the one who designed the superb labels for the vintages of Winery.

We are pleased to offer you some of the vintages of Winery. These are sincere, fresh wines with a real background, wines made by winegrowers. At Julien Courtois, the terroir has pride of place!
