What is the history of Winery Marguet?
Winery Marguet is located in the heart of the famous Montagne de Reims wine region in Champagne. Founded in 1875, this family-run Winery has stood the test of time as one of the pioneers of biodynamic viticulture in Champagne. Today, Winery is run by Benoît Marguet, who represents the fifth generation of winegrowers. His avant-garde approach and deep respect for nature have made Winery Marguet stand out in the Champagne landscape.
Benoît Marguet took the reins at Winery in 2005, bringing a new vision focused on environmentally-friendly viticulture. As soon as he arrived, he began converting Winery to organic and then biodynamic viticulture, marking a strong commitment to natural, sustainable viticulture. Today, Winery is certified biodynamic by Demeter and Biodyvin, two of the most rigorous labels for ecological viticulture.
Winery covers around 8 hectares, mainly in the villages of Ambonnay and Bouzy, both classified as Grand Cru. Thanks to meticulous work in the vines and low-intervention vinification, Benoît Marguet's champagnes express the purity of the terroir and the vitality of the surrounding biodiversity.
What wine tourism activities does Winery Marguet offer?

Visitors have the opportunity to take part in private tastings of the different cuvées, where they can appreciate the finesse and complexity of the Montagne de Reims Grands Crus.

Which grape varieties are grown at Winery Marguet?
Winery Marguet works mainly with the emblematic grape varieties of Champagne, from exceptional terroirs classified as Grand Cru. Here are the main grape varieties grown:
-
Pinot Noir: Grape variety king of the Montagne de Reims, Pinot Noir represents an important part of Winery Marguet's vineyard. Its champagnes are full-bodied, powerful and elegant, with aromas of red berries, undergrowth and spicy notes, offering great complexity on the palate.
-
Chardonnay: Chardonnay, grown on the best limestone terroirs of Winery, brings freshness, finesse and a beautiful minerality to Marguet champagnes. It is often used for vintage cuvées, where it expresses its full potential in terms of elegance and longevity.
These grape varieties are cultivated according to biodynamic principles, respecting natural cycles and minimizing human intervention in the winemaking process. The result is champagnes of great purity, marked by freshness, aromatic intensity and the authentic expression of terroir.
