Brouilly 2018 - Alex Foillard
Alex Foillard has found a few bottles of his 2018 Brouilly: which we'd already had. It's a magnificent example of the best that Gamay can offer with a few years in bottle. We were delighted once again with more complex aromas: notes of kirsch cherries, spices, bouquet of flowers. Yes, more evolved aromas on the nose and palate too, but the density of the tannins has gained in finesse. The wine's skeleton is just perfect!
Something different from other Brouillys and probably with a little Foillardesque touch too :)
Aged in cement and one third in barrel before blending. The vines are around 60-65 years old. Production of 9000 bottles.
