Natural or organic wines?
The advantages of organic viticulture
Organic champagne, cider and sparkling wine offer various advantages, both in terms of taste and the environment. They are much better for your health and comply with very strict specifications to obtain the organic designation. The vines are treated without chemicals or herbicides, fertilisation is natural (such as with composted manure) and the vineyards are worked mechanically. For organic wines, all of these methods help to preserve the natural flavour of the wine, but also the biodiversity that surrounds it. For example, biodynamic bubbly wines enhance the terroir in the simplest way possible using natural processes such as lunar cycles or homeopathy.
All the colours of organic Champagne
Organic Champagne is booming: only 1% of Champagne growers were certified organic in 2019, but the proportion is growing. Indulge in rosé Champagne, which comes from separately vinified vintages of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier (red grapes) and Chardonnay (Grape variety white). By the way, did you know that the Champagne region is the only place in France where it is allowed to make rosé by mixing white and red wine? Blanc de blancs" is a champagne made exclusively from white chardonnay grapes. In contrast, a "Blanc de noirs" is produced from black grapes.
Organic cider and organic sparkling wine: ideal for quenching your thirst
Organic cider is tasty and balanced. Unique and refreshing, apple cider is well known in Brittany. But did you know that it is also available in the South West? It goes perfectly with pancakes and galettes, but also with desserts and aperitifs. Raw or sweet, depending on your preference, cider is a welcome addition to any table. Organic sparkling wine is more versatile. In white or rosé, natural sparkling wine uses a method without the addition of sulphite, with a simple stop of fermentation by cold and filtration before bottling. This technique produces a beautiful 100% natural sparkling wine.
