The Cidrerie du Léguer of Cédric Le Bloas
Cédric Le Bloas settled in Lannion, in the Côtes d'Armor, where he founded La Cidrerie du Léguer. Natural and precise ciders and perries. Cédric Le Bloas: nature loverAfter studying to be an agricultural engineer and working as a boss in his company, Cédric Le Bloas wanted to get closer to the land and initially thought of producing wine. After having considered moving to the Loire or around Bordeaux, Eric and his wife finally decided to return to the country, to Brittany, to start producing cider, between Lannion and the Léguer, a coastal river that flows through the Trégor. In the tradition of natural wine makers, Cédric wants to offer pure, vibrant and healthy ciders and perries. The Orchards of the Cidrerie du LéguerThe different plots are cultivated according to the common sense of the farmers, listening to the earth, without brutality. The orchards, with their granite subsoil, are thus maintained according to the principles oforganic farming, and even more so, since no chemicals are used. The trees are pruned, trimmed and the grass is mown several times a year. These are the only operations in the orchard carried out by Cedric, with nature doing the rest. |
There is a wide variety of apples planted at Cédric Le Bloas; bitter, sweet/bitter, sweet, sour, new varieties as well as more traditional ones. Cédric "likes to mix it up" as he puts it. Organic and natural cidersAt harvest time, several passes are made to collect, by hand of course, the naturally fallen apples and pears (between October and December). A meticulous sorting is done to remove the rotten apples before pressing. The pressing is done very slowly in order to extract the best flavours and to develop all the aromatic finesse. After a slow and cold fermentation in the cellars, the juice finishes its fermentation in the bottle to obtain a natural foam. This method allows us to have a really fine bubble, giving the cider its verticality and its strength. Petites Caves is pleased to offer you the cuvées of the Cidrerie du Léguer! Dry and aromatic ciders and perries, with an incredible finesse and length in the mouth! |
