FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THIS BOXThis is one of the Boxes favorites in our "Beaujolais" selection. We also wanted to offer a white Beaujolais, a white Beaujolais Villages 2022 even, and here it's from Rémy and Laurence (Winery Dufaitre). Beaujolais is 100% Chardonnay, yes yes, that Grape variety which is found in neighboring Burgundy, but with incredible value for money. These Beaujolais whites have nothing to be ashamed of in terms of their appellation positioning. There are real white terroirs. The wine is fruity, generous and taut! To be rediscovered! |
The 2nd "coup de coeur" wine is Côte de Brouilly les Grillés 2021 from Winery Bonnet-Cotton (Marine Bonnet and Pierre Cotton). Why Les Grillés: south-facing slopes on siliceous (yellow) soils. This terroir produces wines of great density and extreme finesse (a velvety touch). A deep, sincere, moving wine! Finally, Julien Guillot (Clos des Vignes du Maynes), known for his great wines Manganite, Aragonite, 910, Auguste etc., produces a Morgon. This is undoubtedly the best-known of the Beaujolais crus. Morgon is also distinguished by the existence of climats such as :
Here, we've chosen Les Charmes 2020. It's a climate on granite soils that give this cuvée fatness, roundness and many aromas. After a few years, as here, the wine gains in balance and aromatic complexity! This is a great wine, a great Morgon, a great GAMAY. |
