Wines of Corsica and Provence: a climate all their own!

The vineyards of the south-eastern quarter of France are characterised by a warm and windy Mediterranean climate, draining limestone and eruptive rock soils that produce powerful, full-bodied and rich wines. Defined by 3 Main appellations, Côtes de Provence, Côteaux Varois and Côteaux d'Aix, the production is mainly in rosé wines with many cooperative cellars. Mourvèdre, grenache noir, cinsault, syrah, slairette, vermentino, grenache blanc, ugni are the main grape varieties adapted to extreme temperature conditions.

Under the same climate, Corsica differs by the originality of its insular grape varieties such as Niellucio, Sciacarello, Bianco Gentile, however mixed with regional grape varieties imported from the continent.

A new generation of winemakers is trying to bring freshness and drinkability to these often heavy wines that lack finesse. Amongst those you will find above are Les Terres Promises, Terres des nus, Jean-Baptiste Arena or Winery U Stiliccionu amongst others! These winemakers work their vines in an exceptional way to produce natural and unique wines of Provence and Corsica! You won't find two like them.
