The Winery of rouges-queues
Natural wines in the heart of the Maranges terroirA real fairy tale that of the friendly couple Jean-Yves and Isabelle Vantey! It was love at first sight that led to the creation of this wonderful little Winery nestled at the bottom of the Maranges valley, south of Meursault, a place of little-known appellations that have finally found their place among the great wines of Burgundy. Coming from different backgrounds, they settled in Sampigny-les-Maranges in 1989. In 1998, they bought their first hectare of red wine and today, the couple owns 6 hectares of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in the Santenay, Maranges and Hautes Côtes de Beaune appellations. |
A Winery of Burgundy in biodynamic farmingThe Winery les Rouges Queues has been biodynamic since 2008, the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are pampered with great respect: ploughing with a horse, no insecticides or weed killers, indigenous yeasts to start the fermentation, little filtration and, of course, minimal use of sulphur. The maturation period of about 10 months is in barrels of several wines and has little impact on the different vintages. |
