What is the rich history of Winery Lacroix-Vanel?
Winery Lacroix-Vanel is a true story of passion and encounters. Located in Caux, just 6 km from Pézenas in the Languedoc-Pézenas appellation, Winery was created in 1998 by Jean-Pierre Vanel, a former teacher and restaurateur who fell in love with this unique terroir. Fascinated by the quality of the gravel and basalt soils characteristic of the region, Jean-Pierre opted for organic farming, focusing on preserving the environment and the authentic expression of the terroir. In 2015, a new page was turned with the arrival of Marc-Olivier Bertrand, an experienced winemaker from the south of France, who took over Winery. Under his leadership, Winery Lacroix-Vanel continues to thrive, with a growing commitment tobiodynamic agriculture, ensuring the sustainability of the vineyard while maintaining high-quality wine production.
Today, the Winery vineyard extends over parcels benefiting from an ideal microclimate, blending both tradition and modernity to produce wines that are a true expression of the Languedoc terroir. The richness of the soil and the variations in altitude give rise to wines of great finesse, complexity and balance, perfectly representative of the Languedoc-Pézenas appellation.
