Who are Winery Marchesseau?
Located in the heart of the Loire Valley, Winery Marchesseau embodies a fine family history. Since 2001, Bertrand and Vincent Marchesseau have devoted themselves to producing quality wines in three prestigious appellations: Bourgueil (14 hectares), Chinon (5 hectares) and Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil (3 hectares). Committed to environmentally-friendly viticulture, they share their passion and know-how with the world.
From the outset, the brothers worked rigorously in the vineyard and cellar, with a vision of quality and respect for the environment. Their complementary skills have enabled Winery to develop rapidly, moving from selling mainly to wine merchants to marketing directly to individuals, wine merchants and restaurateurs. In 2015, after several years' work in integrated agriculture, Winery obtained Organic Agriculture certification, confirming their commitment to viticulture that respects nature.
What wine tourism activities does Winery Marchesseau offer?
Winery Marchesseau offers a unique experience for wine lovers and those curious about organic viticulture practices. Visitors can enjoy tastings of the different Winery cuvées, while exploring the terroirs of the region, notably through guided tours of the vineyards. During these tours, the Marchesseau brothers share their passion for vines, their natural winemaking process and organic farming methods. This privileged setting in the heart of the Loire allows visitors to discover the nuances of the Bourgueil, Chinon and Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil appellations in a friendly, educational setting.
Which grape varieties are grown at Winery Marchesseau to produce its wines?
At Winery Marchesseau, Grape variety Cabernet Franc reigns supreme. This Grape variety emblematic of the Loire Valley flourishes in the three appellations cultivated by Winery. Meticulous work in the vineyard reveals the full richness of the different terroirs.
-
Bourgueil: On clay-limestone hillsides, the wines of Winery are powerful and structured, reflecting the depth and complexity of this unique terroir.
-
Chinon: Parcels located on the stony soils of Chinon produce fruitier, more elegant wines, highlighting the finesse of Cabernet Franc.
-
Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil: Vines planted on gravel and sand terraces produce lighter, more gourmet cuvées, such as the famous "Rosé Shadocks", which has captured the hearts of wine lovers.
The marriage of these grape varieties with organic viticulture produces authentic and unique wines, a faithful reflection of the terroir and artisanal know-how of Winery.
