We're talking to you about his Winery
The Winery PierreAndré, managed by the kind and dynamic Jacqueline André, offers healthy, balanced and elegant Châteauneuf-du-Pape with a very good ageing potential! It benefits from a terroir of great diversity: rolled pebbles (quartzites), clay, sand, limestone, and a climate that is very favourable to the vine: a regional Mediterranean climate with the "famous mistral" which optimises sunshine while reducing rainfall and mist. The Winery has essentially very old vines: some plots are more than 130 years old! The average age is 70 years. Its Grape varieties is essentially based on Grenache, 80% of which is Grenache for the reds, and 40% Clairette and 30% Bourboulenc for the whites. Vine care has long been a priority on Winery : organic cultivation since 1980.biodynamics follows naturally since 1992 : the vines are treated by spraying plant extracts as well as specific preparations. Finally, Winery works in harmony with cosmic rhythms.

The following is a logical work with these approaches: the harvest is done by hand, sorted with the greatest rigour, the vinifications are "traditional" for the reds (harvest not destemmed and long vatting for 3 to 4 weeks, maturing in oak vats and tuns for 18 to 20 months). The wines are not filtered but only fined with fresh egg white from organic farming. For the white, after pressing and a light settling, it ferments at a temperature of 19 and 20°C and will simply be fined with bentonite without filtration. Tasting notes: the red Châteauneuf-du-Pape (decanting for at least 4 hours recommended) can be enjoyed from the 3rd year and reach their fullness between the 5th and 10th years. But they can be kept for 15 years or more, depending on the vintage. White wines are generally drunk in their first 3 years to appreciate their aromatic freshness and liveliness or older, around 8-10 years, when they offer us a sweeter, more honeyed bouquet. |
