Who is Winery of La Font des Pères in Provence?

Winery de La Font des Pères is nestled in the slopes of the Bandol appellation, one of Provence's most prestigious wine-growing terroirs. Its history dates back to the 13th century, when monks were already cultivating vines on these lands. In 2010, Caroline and Philippe Chauvin decided to take over Winery and restore it to make it an emblematic Bandol estate. Their passion and commitment have transformed La Font des Pères into a modern Winery while remaining true to its historic roots. Today, Winery extends over terraced vineyards which, thanks to a diversity of soils (limestone, schist, sandstone), produce wines of great complexity. The emphasis is on sustainable viticulture, with particular attention paid to biodiversity and respect for the terroir.

By adopting modern, environmentally-friendly practices, while preserving the region's winegrowing heritage, Winery de La Font des Pères has established itself as a key player in the Provence region. Winery also stands out for its expressive wines, which are true ambassadors for the Bandol appellation, combining tradition and innovation.

Among the main grape varieties grown are Mourvèdre, Grape variety emblematic of Bandol, renowned for its ability to produce well-structured, ageing red wines. Often grown on steep slopes, Mourvèdre gives the wines of Winery complex aromas of black fruit, spices and garrigue.

Winery also cultivates complementary grape varieties such as Grenache and Cinsault, which bring roundness and red fruit aromas to rosé and red wines. For white wines, Winery relies on grape varieties such as Clairette, a Grape variety that produces fresh, mineral wines typical of the Mediterranean climate. The combination of these grape varieties and the diversity of the soils enable Winery to produce wines of great richness, which perfectly express the unique character of the Bandol terroir.
