Natural or organic red wine: find out more about our selection
Our selection of red wines by region
A red wine is the result of the fermentation of black grape must with the skins, pips and possibly the stalk. The factors influencing the fermentation time are numerous, depending on the desired wine, the characteristics of each harvest, the traditions linked to each wine-growing region, etc. Accompany your dishes and treat your guests with organic red wines from the greatest French vineyards(Alsace, Burgundy, Languedoc, Loire, Jura, etc.), Spanish, Portuguese, Austrian, Australian or Italian... Take a tour of France, Europe or the world with our selection of red wines.
Natural red wine
Here we offer you organic red wines without added sulphites with the aim of preserving the authentic flavour of each Grape variety. The organic designation meets European specifications that prohibit the use of chemicals and herbicides to treat the vines. Additives and other chemical inputs (such as sulphur) are used in much smaller quantities, if at all, which preserves the aromas of the grapes. The winemaker works mechanically and only natural products (such as composted manure) are allowed for fertilisation. To enjoy an even greater connection between nature and wine, opt for a biodynamic red wine: cultivated according to lunar cycles and homeopathic principles, these biodynamic red wines truly taste of each terroir. How to choose the right organic red wine according to your preferences?
There are so many organic red wines that it can sometimes seem difficult to choose the right one just by looking at the bottle. To start with, dare to taste the wines! You can then refine your tastes and define what you like best in terms of complexity, intensity and balance. Then you can focus on food and wine pairings that work well:
- A full-bodied red wine is idealwith a strong and relatively fatty dish.
- With charcuterie, white meat or goat's cheese: Beaujolais (fruity and rather light red wines) are a perfect match. You can also open a few bottles of white wine from Burgundy, the Loire or the South West.
- With grilled and roasted meats : the red wines of Burgundy sublimate the aromas, as well as the wines of the Côtes-du-Rhône or the reds of Provence.
- With your "red" desserts (strawberry tart, raspberry vacherin, cherry clafoutis, etc.), choose natural sweet wines such as Banuyls or Maury.
