All you need to know about Pinot Noir d'Alsace
What are the best Alsace Pinot Noirs?
There's one very well-known name in Alsace whose wines are outstanding: Marc Kreydenweiss. His son, Antoine, has taken over at Winery , bringing a touch of modernity that only improves his wines!
You'll also find excellent wines made from Pinot Noir grown on the terroirs of Saint-Hyppolyte, Ottrott and Marlenheim.
Pinot Noir, white or red wines?
In the Champagne region, Grape variety is often used. These champagnes are called Blancs de Noir, because they are white in color, even though they are made from black-skinned grapes. All this comes from grapes with colorless juice and black skins.
To obtain its red color, the Pinot Noir grape juice is pressed and macerated with its skin.
What dish to serve with an Alsace Pinot Noir?
Drinking an Alsatian wine with an Alsatian dish is just the thing! Serve with sauerkraut or Baeckeoffe.
For lovers of more classic cuisine, opt for roast guinea fowl, cooked pigeon rosé, saddle of lamb or mushroom risotto.
