Beaujolais Villages 2023 - Alex Foillard
Alex Foillard, son of Agnès and Jean Foillard who needs no introduction, set up in 2016 on 2 ha, 1 ha in Brouilly and 1 ha in Côte de Brouilly, 2 beautiful parcels with vines aged between 30 and 60 years. The latter were worked conventionally until Alex took over and immediately began converting to organic farming.
Alex, the symbol of this new generation of Beaujolais with the Lapierre, Cotton and Métras children, continues to work with his parents to gain experience but, all of a sudden, the next generation is here. "Son of", perhaps, but for God's sake can't lie! A new generation of young winegrowers is on the march in the Beaujolais.
Harvested by hand. Carbonic maceration. Aged 9 months in concrete vats. No filtration.
