The Winery MAS FOULAQUIER
| Like the famous mountain near Montpellier that rises in the middle of the garrigues, Mas Foulaquier has managed to stand out from the crowd to become one of the most beautiful wines of the Languedoc and perhaps the best Pic St-Loup. In love with Winery of 8 and then 15 hectares since 1998, Pierre Jéquier, a passionate Swiss architect, quickly directed the Winery in biodynamics to reach in 2007 the label Demeter, after the path AB and Ecocert. Assisted by his partner Blandine Chauchat from the Loire, Pierre produces juicy, vibrant and fresh wines. The location of the vineyard is a major factor (altitude of 200 m in the north of the Appellation) but not only! | Meticulous work in the vines (respect of the lunar calendar, use of silica, cow dung and horn, plant decoctions, harvesting in crates for yields of 35 hl/ha) but also in the cellar: no yeasting, no filtration, no pumping. The juices are vinified separately and the wine is matured in small concrete vats and truncated cone vats. And finally, the bottling is done by gravity so as not to shock the natural wines of these artists. To discover...! |
