We're talking to you about his Winery
Charles Dufour, originally from Landreville, in the Aube region (near Bar-sur-Seine), embodies a new generation of small winemakers who have started to produce haute couture champagne. After starting to work in the family business (vines at his father's and his mother's) in 2006, Charles began a radical conversion of the vineyard to organic, with the final process taking effect from the 2010 harvest. All the grapes of Charles Dufour's production (Les Vignes du 7) are therefore certified. Being certified organic is particularly difficult for Champagne due to the rainy and cold weather conditions. And yet, Charles has managed to create very great natural wines (champagne) with a magnificent artisanal signature. Some people call it "the Selosse de l'Aube..." |
Today (2019) Charles Dufour lives and works in Landreville on a 6 ha family vineyard. He presses what he grows, he vinifies what he presses and markets what he vinifies. In addition, he helps his mother (Françoise Martinot) who also brings him organic grapes (pinot noir) which he vinifies, ages and adds his personal touch. It is the Bistrøtage range that he markets and that we also propose simply because the quality is just as incredible! Charles exports almost 90% of his production... so it is with great pleasure that we invite you to (re)discover the work of a singular character, a neighbour of Gautherot, Valérie Frison, Cédric Bouchard... To your health and moderation... |
